Julia and I met in 2020, and with no restaurants, bars, or movie theaters open, we spent a lot of time talking. Talking, it seems, is one of the tricks to falling in love, and by the end of the year we were head over heels. 2021 saw us grow closer. Getting to know each other's friends and families, backpacking in Yosemite, and dressing as cockroaches for Halloween. At the start of 2022 we moved in together. There, Linus and Scamp met Kosh, and Julia was forced to reckon with the reality that she now lived in a one bedroom apartment with three cats. By 2023, we knew we were ready to spend the rest of our lives together, so we found some rings and headed to City Clerk's office. With paperwork in hand, we picked an evening, gathered some friends, said some words, licked the envelope and sent it off. Two weeks later we found ourselves to be an officially married couple, and it's been bliss since.
We won't be having a formal sit-down dinner, but instead food will be available throughout the night. There will also be an open bar.
We plan to take advantage of the rooftop venue and spend most of the evening outside but indoor seating will be available.
Don't bother with a tie. Aim for summer party/cocktail attire.
For those visiting (or those who plan to party hard), there is a hotel block available at the Wyndham Garden Brooklyn Sunset Park. Rooms are available Friday and/or Saturday night including late check out until 1:00PM and 20% off parking. Book by July 13th for the discounted rate.
We don't have one. Don't buy us anything, we don't have any room anyway :). If you do want to give a gift, cash is just fine.
